CoroCoro Comic May 2012 Issue Review (Updated)
CoroCoro Comic May 2012 Issue
This months issue pack with it quite a few additional freebies, including Duel Masters Card and Card Sleeves, two mini comic books, LBX cards and a Hypercluster Yoyo DVD! Do take note of the Huge 'Pirates Orojya 145D' Beyblade behind the book when you buy it ya~
In the back end of the colored pages, reveals a firey page of ZeroG!
"Strongest Bey Custom! Fire Synchrom!"
Before that, the bottom right section introduce the 3rd Fire elemental Bey, the 'Thief Pheonik E230GCF"!!!!!
The New Fire Bey comes as a Super Rare Prize Bey in the upcoming BBG-09 ZeroG Random Booster Vol.1. Apparently it comes with two new ZeroG parts! The 'Elevator 230 (E230)' Track and 'Gear Circle Flat (GCF)' Bottom.
The Elevator 230 is basically a very tall 230 Track with a Circular Disk like the Boost Disk from Hell Kerbecs. As its name suggest, the Disk on the Track is possiblily able to travel up and down like an 'Elevator'. This movement is a Balance Reflex function to counter the high tilt angle and help the Thief Pheonik to regain its overall balance in a battle.
The Gear Circle Flat (GCF) is the second redition of the Circle Flat (CF) that Samurai Ifraid has. The GCF is similar to CF but the second tier disk above the Flat Bottom has a Gear-like design. The Gear Surface is suppose to increase Friction between the Stadium surface and Bottom to induce power and speed up.
Will be looking forward to getting this Rare bey to test it out ya~
The left portion shows the 'Fire Synchrom' combo~
This Combo apparently is very high in Attack properties, It is super destructive as Ifraid Chromium Wheel has the highest Attack value and Saramanda ChW has an effective Repeative Attack surface. To add to its destructive elements, the new E230 and GCF from Thief Pheonik adds Speed and Power with its accelerative functions. The high Design also increases Smash attacks that lowers opponents balance and spin ratio.
The Breakdown of the 'Fire Synchrom Saramanda Ifraid E230GCF'
The next page features a new 'Water' based bey~ 'BBG-08 Pirates Orojya 145D'!!!
The 'Pirates Orojya' is a Serpent motive Bey wirth 9 snake heads on it Orojya ChW. The Pirates CrW has a balanced Repeative Attack designed and Bey comes with 145 Track and Defence Bottom. (Which is kind of normal for a new Bey)
The 9 Orojya snake head design has 6 particular heads balanced out one each side of the Chromium Wheel and increases the Balance of the ChW when contacted by an opponent. With the combinaton of the D Bottom, a great Satmina type Bey is formed.
The Pirates Orojya comes with a Metal Stone FaceBolt like the Shinobi Saramanda.
Like the 'Fire Synchrom' there is also a 'Water Synchrom' combination and a new 'Water-based' Bey is coming up next~ Guardian Reviza! More reviewed in next issue.
At the bottom of the page also feature a new ZeroG bey stadium being planned... The DekaG Stadium!!! It is basically bigger version of the Standard Attack Zero G Stadium and Gap stretches at 45cm! almost 1.5x bigger and able to accommodate 4 Players! No news on whether it will be released but it will be previewed at the upcoming Bey Events in Japan in May.
Lastly the Back of the CoroCoro features the Beys in BBG-09 ZeroG Random Booster Vol.1!
From the image, besides the Super Rare 'Thief Pheonik E230GCF' there are 2 Ifraids, 2 Orojya and 3 Saramanda Chromium Wheel Beys to look out for.
<Update>
These are the Beys that comes in this RVB
145WD -Samurai Orojya 145WD
・シノビオロジャ145ES -Shinobi Orojya 145ES
・パイレーツサラマンダT125WB -Pirates Saramanda T125WB
・シノビイフレイド230WD -Shinobi Ifraid 230WD
Looks like the E230 and GCF comes with some other beys besides the Super Rare. Good news~
Will not be reviewing the comic portion at this point as it differs too much when compared to the Animation version, do not want to confuse the readers and fans with too many reditions of the Story Plot.

BBG-03 Beyblade Start Dash Set
The most important Zero G Set has arrived~
BBG-03 Beyblade Start Dash Set
This is a must have for all bladers new to Zero G as you will need THE Zero G Stadium and since it comes with a limited color "Samurai Ifraid W145CF Burning Version" its a great set to start with.
Contents Include:
Zero G Stadium (Top Cover & Bottom Arena)
3 Fixing Pegs (6 parts)
Zero G Compact Launcher w/ Ripcord (Red)
Stickers & Instructions
Zero G Compact Launcher w/ Ripcord (Red)
Stickers & Instructions
Clear Stone FaceBolt (Blank)
Samurai Crystal Wheel (Crimson Vermillion)
Ifraid Chromium Wheel
Wing 145 Track (Clear Red)
Circle Flat Bottom (Clear Red)
The Set comes with a Limited Edition 'Hittsatsu Tengi' Samurai Ifraid W145CF Burning Version. Which is basically a recolored original in Vermillion and Red to signify its Special Attack in the anime.
The Zero G Compact Launcher also comes in a Red color instead of the standard blue one from BBG-01. Gear ratio and functions have no differ.
Before you can start, you have to put the Stadium together first.
The Zero G stadium consist of this major parts, the Top Cover, The Arena Base and the Fixing Pegs.
But before you start a little "mori.m tip" for you. The Zero G stadium, like any other Beystadiums will wear and tear as time goes by, so before you start , it would be good to do some 'Protection' to the Impact points around the Stadium Out Pockets using 'Clear Tape' to increase it Durability.
After you are done, place the lid on and position the Fixing Peg in the 'Square' Holes between the Cover and Base.
Fit the Top Peg on and twist clockwise until you hear/feel a 'click'. If not, try to reposition the Peg again. It should fit on and click easily if it is not doing so, the position of the bottom Peg is off.
After you are done with all three Fixing Pegs its done~
Generally the overall material and construction of the Zero G stadium feels more rugged. The thickness of the Bottom Base is also much thicker when compared the past Standard Attack Stadium.
The Stadium with the standard BBG-01 Samurai Ifraid W145CF in it, moves quite abit, wobbles and tilts but not as 'vigourous' as i thought it would.
Here you see the Circle Flat (CF) Bottom in action, using its 'second' layer circular frame to axle itself along the high tilt angle of the Zero G Stadium.
The Stadium Out 'Pockets' are quite difficult to access when you are playing a stamina battle. As the tilt angle of the Stadium is pretty steep, it makes it almost impossible for a heavier Bey to climb up and into the Gap even with RF or XF Bottoms. It took me couple of very strong 'angled' shots to get a stadium out. So do not worry too much unless you are using a very light Bey with XF.
Defence Bottom Types like Shinobi Saramanda SW145SD tends to just stay in the center when launched in the stadium. Not as 'exciting' as the CF in performance.
When pitted against an Attack type Bey, in this case, 'Big Bang Pegasis V145RF' the countering movements made the Zero G Stadium Tilt and Rotate.
Apparently the angle of the tilt and rotation is 'controlled' by the Attack Bey. This is not as simple and straight forward as the previous Bey Battles in a standard attack Stadium anymore.
Its quite difficult to explain but here's the run down.
Heavier Beys causes the Stadium to be 'Static' and do not move around as much, they are much more difficult to Stadium Out. Attack Beys with high recoils will get the Most out of the Performance in this Stadium as the Recoil Force and Attack based bottoms will Tilt and Rotate the Stadium, increase the chances of Stadium Out. Light Beys are quite Fatal in the Stadium, somehow lighter beys have very low Stamina when it comes to surviving in the Zero G Stadium. Not only are they easy to Stadium Out, they are most of the time being 'controlled' around by the Tilting of the Stadium and at time 'Flung' upside down by the High Tilt angled walls.
Battles are also short, not lasting more than a minute even in stamina battles. The high tilted walls of the stadium are taking away lots of Stamina as the 'contact' surface of the bottoms gets alot of fiction even with the slightest tilt in angle. Bottoms with sharp and little surface contact subject the Beys to higher tilts and the Chromium Wheel or Metal Wheel will touch the Stadium wall in the process, incurring in a MW slide death.
Very in depth indeed. Its like all the beys and parts all function differently in this Zero G Stadium. Alot of re-experimentation needs to be done and reconfiguration of Beys are also needed. Don't expect to win in this Stadium with your 'Basalt Kerbecs BD145CS', try it out when you can and you will know why.
Overall, the BBG-03 Beyblade Start Dash Set is a Must get for new Zero G bladers and Collectors alike. A great start set to practice and custom you own style of Zero G Blading!

BBSG MFBeyblade Competitions and Events Review 2012
At Present, BBSG have been holding regular Monthly Event Competitions and Nationals Successfully. And the Rulings and Regulative have been handled much efficiently by the staffs.
Our Local BBSG is currently using the “Non-repetitive Metal Wheel” regulation which is well received by the local bladers as it opens customization to the next level and we see more “typed –based” bladers. (Full Attack Bladers, Full Stamina Bladers being the most common where all 3 Deck Beys are same types.)
BBSG also adapted to the 2 point Stadium Out and 1 point Sleep Out/Foul System as of the Japan WBBA Official Rules Jan 2011.
BBSG also adapted to the 2 point Stadium Out and 1 point Sleep Out/Foul System as of the Japan WBBA Official Rules Jan 2011.
During the competitions I did some reviewing and here are some findings, feedback and suggestions pertaining to solve the issues existing.
Beyblade Competitions
Scenario 1 – Stadium Out or Self Defeat?
The current 2 point Stadium Out and 1 Point Sleep Out/Fouls system seems fine at the moment but due to the overall 5 point total and slight lack of Bey battle Rule knowledge, Both Bladers and Ambassadors find themselves confused in a Deck Battle, with arguments on what’s a Stadium Out and Self Defeat, being a 2 point difference causing much displease.
Scenario 2 – Bey Shuffling
There is also the “I see your Bey, You see my Bey” issue where both bladers have reached a point where all 3 of their deck beys are used and they are Free to choose any bey for the next battles. One player will choose his bey, then the opponent will ‘peep’ at his bey and select one to counter it, ‘seeing’ that, the blader than changes his bey again, and so does the opponent, this goes on and on…
Scenario 3 – 10min Bey Battle
Full Stamina Bey users also took too long to reach the 5 point game total and normally results in delay between matches in a competition due to the 1 point Sleep Out Rule. And thanks to new great stamina parts like Bearing Drive (B:D) these Beybattles can go up to 10 minutes!
Solution
Adapting to the upcoming Zero G, 'One-Point' System Ruling.
The 'One-Point' system is basically strictly based on the win basis, regardless of Stadium Out or Sleep Out. Only 1 point is given to each Win.
In a 3 Bey Deck battle, only 1 Point is given to each win, and each of the blader’s 3 beys only get to play ONCE. (this will eliminate the "I see your bey, you see my bey" problem). So game ends either a 2:0 or 2:1. In the occasion where a foul launch, tie or double foul occur, no points will be given. Purely” In Battle” points, no more winning due to poor launching opponent’s advantage. (This is similar to the OLD pioneer rule during the 1st season, but we had the “Same Metal Wheel and Bottom Type” Rule then.)
In Deck Battle, Beys in deck box are set by their own bladers, the Box numbers when in battle are chosen by the opponent before each match, fair, simple as that. Ambassadors only have to pre-check authenticity and regulations to the Metal Wheels.
So the New “One-Point” System plus the “Opponent choiced” Deck Box Rule, will add more ‘Sudden Win’ impact to the gameplay and Beyblade Combos has to be ‘smart’ since the Bladers cannot choose to advantage themselves with their Beys.
BeyBattles will be simple, short and eventful. No more complicated ‘half round in stadium then out’, ‘last touch’ or ‘fatal double foul launch disqualifications’
Open Category Competitions
The idea of the Open Cat was great; it gives Older Bladers a chance to participate in the thrill and fun of this game. It also allows parents to gain first hand experience working together with their child in Parent and Child Competitions.
Scenario – Open Category becoming Kenta Competition
Overtime, the once older gen targeted Open Cat has began to be overwhelmed with more kids than older gens, becoming more of a Kenta Competition. And more and older bladers like me, are avoiding it as it will just become like a “Big man versus Small Boy” bully situation. To make things worst we can participate in any other Catagories already. Now, winners of Open Cat are mostly from Kenta and Ginga Catagories as noticed.
The competition has lost its main purpose as a Open Category, reason?
The minimum age is too low.
Solution
Open Cat, should be at least AFTER the maximum age of the National Competitors. A better age range would perhaps be 14 and above? Instead of being benchmarked at the Kenta Category Age, 7.
The focus will then change to Secondary, Teens and adults, a battle for the bigger boys. Isn’t that the very point of Open Cat in the first place? That will definitely bring back some older bladers.
Beyblade Event Feedback
Most of the feedback from bladers and their parents are answered. These include, Beybattle Stations, Booths, Event Exclusives, Special Competitions, Tutorial Classes, Selling of Spare parts…
And they were happy about having such improvements in the events.
Some Feedback from new customers to beyblade, came as great ideas to me and I want to bring them up.
Beyblade Display
A mass display of ALL the existing Beyblades from Gen1 till now. Many were curious on how many beys were released and how they actually looked like. And it is always a great motivation to visitors new to beyblade to see such vast display of all the rares, and past Beyblades.
A covered display could be set up during Big Holiday Events to display such a collection. It will sure attract people and more hobbyists to buy and collect them.
BBSG could also display some of the Commonly Used Combinations/parts or Past National Winners Combination to encourage others to try beat it themselves. Since there is no Invincible Combos there’s nothing to lose.
Having such a section is like a ‘Beyblade Museum ’, it will be more interesting even for Non-playing visitors to just learn more or just awe at the displays.
Rule and Safety Boards
Another common feedback would have to be the Updated and “Printed” Rule and Regulations Board to be displayed during events to clarify doubts for bladers and parents. As most bladers DO NOT READ the online R&R page, such a panel during events will help greatly pertaining to “The Non-Repeative Metal Wheel System”, the “Point Rulings” and even “Gameplay”. Safety Pecautions and notes to parents can also be listed out to keep everyone ‘covered’.
Summary
Overall, the Beyblade community in Singapore has matured over these couple of years, and the staffs are also improving a lot when it comes to Skills and Knowledge. With some fine tuning of rules and addition of new exciting features in events, I am sure more people will be interested and those who have left will come back again.
This edited review is strictly on request. Based on BeyGenSG’s Event Report and Feedback during BBSG Events from Dec 2011 to March 2012.

BBG-05 & 07 Zero G Light Launcher & Launcher Grip
To take advantage in a complete Zero G Bey Battle, bladers will need...
BBG-05 Zero G Light Launcher &
BBG-07 Zero G Launcher Grip
The Zero G Light Launcher
Similar to the default Zero G Compact Launcher that comes with BBG-01 Samurai Ifraid, The Zero G Light Launcher is a Ripcord based gear launcher.
The major difference is that it is designed to launch downwards from a upstanding angle position as the New Zero G Stadium requires the Beys to be launched from the top down into the stadium.
The Zero G Light Launcher comes with an in-built 'Grip' section and angled like a pistol grip for comfort in holding. (a little short for my hand though)
The Launcher also has 5 rotational rev, 1 time more than the Compact Launcher which has 4 rotational rev. But it does not really do any different when comapared to the Rev-up or Beylauncher where both have higher revs by default.
The Zero G Launcher Grip
The New Launcher Grip comes in two parts, the Handle Grip and the Compact Launcher Clip.
The Clip fits the Compact Launcher snugly using a 'twist-lock' system instead of a 'flip-clip' from the past seasons.
To attach, twist the lock to 'open' position and the 'Grip tabs' below will be opened for the Compact Launcher's (Stone FaceBolt Tightener) part to fit in.
To Lock, just twist the lock switch back to 'lock' position and you are ready to go.
The Compact Launcher when attached to the Grip, is positioned at a much lower position and away from the bladers fingers. This design is also to incorperate the 'Top Launched' Zero G Stadium design.
It can also attach past released attachments like LED Sights, Compass, Grip Rubber, Grip Extension, Grip Support... and so on.
The Handle Grip portion is similar to the past 3 Segment Launcher and can fit with the past 3 Seg Card Holder and the Zero G Light Launcher. It unfortunately CANNOT fit with the BeyPointer Clip from the second season.
Overall, the Zero G Launcher and Launcher Grip are additional accessories to aid bladers in a better game. Though will be looking forward to future (String based) launchers hopefully.

BBG-02 Shinobi Saramanda SW145SD
The Second Zero G Bey in the new series~
BBG-02 Shinobi Saramanda(Salamander) SW145SD
Contents Include:
Metal Stone FaceBolt (Blank) - 5.45g
Shinobi Crystal Wheel - 5.41g
Saramanda Chromium Wheel - 30.76g
Switch 145 Track - 4.34g
Semi Defence Bottom - 0.64

Shinobi Crystal Wheel and Saramanda Chromium Wheel
The Shinobi Saramanda CrW and ChW are more rounded in shape when compared to the Samurai Ifraid. Appears to have more Defence Capabilities with its Jaggered edges and Thick metallic frame.
The CrW and ChW are of similar diameter and can fit on each other snugly with the Peg and Hole interlock system within them.
The Mode change of the Zero G system involves interflipping of the CrW and ChW portion. Namely 'Chrome UP' and 'Crystal UP' modes.
The Saramanda ChW, like the Ifraid, can also combine with another ChW to form a 'SynChrom' combination, this combination greatly increases the weight and capabilities. The CrW have longer 'Pegs' and have no 'Hole' slots, thus can't combine with itself.
The 'SynChrom' Saramanda weighs a 61.63g alone, heavier than Ifraid at 60.58g.
The 'SynChrom' between the Saramanda and Ifraid Chromium Wheels weighs at 61.11g.
Metal FaceBolt
The Shinobi Saramanda comes with a Metal Stone FaceBolt.
Similar to the past Gen's MetalFace 1, the New Metal Stone FaceBolt as a Full Metal top cover with a Metal Shaft in the core of the screw bolt. The New Stone FaceBolt design CANNOT fit with the Past Gen's Bey as the Screw Bolt Section is longer than the usual FaceBolt.
The Metal Stone FaceBolt weighs at 5,46g, heavier than the current MetalFace 2 (5.21g) - Heavy Custom.
Overall, the Shinobi Saramanda is the 'Balance Type' Zero G bey. Heavier than the Ifraid, it uses weight to counter the Speed Ifraid has due to its CF Bottom. The only set back is the Switch 145 (S145) Track and Semi Defence (SD) Bottom which does not perform as well in the Zero G stadium. And the SW145 can prove suicidal when in contact with the Stadium surface during a high tilt. Good but not Great addition to the Collection.
Extras
SynChrom Saramanda - 61.63g
Circle Flat Bottom - 2.49g
Metal Stone FaceBolt - 5.46g
Since a new heavier SynChrom Wheel and Bottom Parts are available. The Updated Heaviest Competitive Combination is SynChrom Saramada BD145CF at 77.52grams~
