A short update of some rare Beys i got a couple of weeks back.

This version of the Mercury Anubis is the 1st runner up (Silver) prize for WBBA Japan tournaments.

In general the different variations of Anubis are the same if not for their color.
But is it just that? In fact there was a rumor going around in June 2011 claiming that a certain Mercury Anubis was more being used than the others due to a certain factor - MW weight.

Yes, as clique as it sounds, the MW weight distribution of 2 particular Mercury MWs are different.
And since i have most Mercury MWs, heres the weight listings:


first up, Mercury Anubis 85XF (Beyta Lvl 7 Prize)
weighing at 34.91grams


Mercury Anubis 85XF (Brave Version)
weighing at 34.43grams


Mercury Anubis 85XF (Beyta Lvl 10 Prize)
weighing at 34.36grams


and lastly Mercury Anubis 85XF (Silver Version)
weighing at 34.69grams

milligram difference? yes, but the very first models (lvl 7 and Silver) of the Mercury MW was heavier than the rest due to a different alloy used back then. As the rest was produced after the 4D series which used more Aluminium compound to prevent breakage due to impact for safety reasons.

like the old first version Japanese Perseus MW for the starter, the 1st gen Mercury MW has much more recoil in them thus more often used in competitions as an Attack Bey.The later retains more "Absorb" capabilities and appears 'softer' than the 1st gen Mercury MWs.


So there you have it, 4 Mercury Anubis to the collection. thou i do not see myself using them anytime soon~

2011 Beyta Level 10 Prize Bey - Mercury Anubis 85XF (Legend Ver.)

2011 Beyta Level 10 Prize Bey - Mercury Anubis 85XF (Legend Version)
As the name suggest, this limited prize bey can only be obtained by accumilating a Level 10 bey point on the Bey Point Card used on the Beyta Machine. Roughly around 120000pts.

The Level 10 Prize Anubis or a.k.a. Yuuki's Bey is a re-colored version of the original Mercury Anubis which was the Level 7 Prize Bey back in 2010. I have no idea why they decided to make the Level 10 Prize in 2011 to be another Mercury Anubis, in my opinion its not very worth the effort. 120000pts is no joke ya.


So 3 Mercury Anubis in the collection, the only one missing from the family is the Gold Version which was a top prize for the S2 Bey Trials in Japan last year. But i guess, 3 is enough~

This is actually a re-color version of the original Beyta level 7 prize blue Anubis. And it comes in the form of a Coro Coro Subscriber sent-in premium present.

Actually didn't want to add this re-color version to my collection as afterall i already have the original Beyta version. But there is something about this bey that i didn't know... besides its re-colored parts and MW. The Brave Anubis also has another secret up its sleeves. (Will release it on a later update) XD


Nonetheless, the re-color version is actually very nicely done up. So another Anubis version up~

Anubis Clear Wheel and Mercury Metal Wheel
In the Game Mercury Anubis is the 'evolution' of Vulcan Horuseus.
Thou the two Metal Wheel have totally different functions.
The Vulcan MW is a defence type, typical of its great counter ability, it is often used as an attack type bey combi.
The Mercury MW is an Attack type. Its super low slope design on its two sides hinders opponents attack by performing an 'upper' lift. This follows with a 'hammer' at the end of it, knocking opponents away. A dangerous Attack MW to encounter in a battle.


Mercury Anubis 85XF is also known as the "King of Rare Beys" in Japan for its difficulty in obtaining even after 3 versions of its release.
The first Gold Mercury Anubis is the Top prize for a tournament BeyBattle Royal challenge.
The Second is the Blue Mercury Anubis that is the Beyta Level 7 Prize.
The third is Mercury Anubis Brave Version, which is a CoroCoro Lucky Draw Exclusive.

I guess having one is better than nothing ya.
